Building Culturally Inclusive Aged Care
The Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Mentoring Initiative (CALD-MI) supports aged care providers in developing and implementing effective diversity policies and practices to ensure clients and staff feel included, supported, and respected.
Developed by MCCI, a mentor works alongside the organisation’s leadership team and other staff to reflect on current policies, identify gaps and areas of improvements, and build practical, achievable strategies that align with the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.
Through guided self-assessment, mentoring, and tailored support, CALD-MI helps services move beyond compliance and embed cultural inclusion into everyday practice. The program aims to improve policies and support providers to better engage with diverse communities, respecting their unique identities, languages, cultures, and lived experiences.
The CALD-MI supports organisations at any stage of their CALD journey, whether they are new to the diversity field or looking to improve existing practices and lead in culturally inclusive care.
