MCCI’s Cook-Off program started in 2013 with the aim of connecting young people and seniors by sharing stories, experiences and passion for cooking. The recipes in the cook books are the result of multicultural Cook-Off teams of MCCI Seniors and Year 9 students at Lake Illawarra High School who came together to learn about different cultures and food.
“Cook-Off enables generations from different cultural backgrounds to come together and in a fun and safe space share stories and their passion for food. It’s a celebration of diversity and cooperation", says Allyson Pazos, MCCI's Youth & Community Manager.
Cook-Off is a partnership between The Shellharbour Club, Year 9 students at Lake Illawarra High School and MCCI.
