There are more than 447,000 people living with dementia in Australia and many of them are from multicultural backgrounds. The training will enable you to understand how to provide the best possible care and support for people with different cultural needs.
The training will be delivered by
ZELJKA CANKOVIC, Education and Training Coordinator, has been working with MCCI since 2018. Zeljka has worked in Refugee Settlement Sector for 12 years where she gained valuable experience in working with CALD communities and services involved in clients settlement. She was also employed with Housing NSW as a Senior Client Service Officer Specialist. Apart from these roles, Zeljka has been employed with TAFE Community Services as a casual part – time teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Science Psychology, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and Certificate in Understanding Dementia MOOC. She is currently enrolled in Diploma of Leadership and Management.
TANIA RUDDOCK, Project officer, with MCCI since 2018. Tania has been working in the Aged Care Sector for more than 7 years, in both residential and home care settings. She has held a number of roles with MCCI, including supporting people living with dementia as part of our Multicultural Memory Support Groups. She is currently working with and supporting MCCI volunteers, amongst other projects. She has completed a Certificate III in Home and Community Care, Certificate in Understanding Dementia, Dementia Care Program, is a Dementia Friend.
