Develop strategies to care for clients from multicultural backgrounds

Culture is at the core of everything we do and how we live. Having an understanding of different cultures underpins our ability to be responsive to the diverse needs of the people we engage with every day and the quality of services we provide.

This training is for anyone interested in developing strategies for culturally inclusive service delivery which caters for the needs and interests of clients from multicultural backgrounds. We will build cultural competence by understanding cultural differences, recognising and challenging our own bias and stereotypes, and learn how to use effective communication in creating an inclusive and welcoming aged care environment.

Partners in Culturally Appropriate Care (PICAC) NSW & ACT is part of the nationwide PICAC Alliance which is funded by the Australian Government to support aged care service providers to deliver care that meets the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) people. PICAC NSW & ACT is auspiced by the Multicultural Communities Council of Illawarra (MCCI).
