Elderly people from CALD backgrounds are identified as being especially vulnerable with specific health and wellbeing needs. This has important implications for aged care service delivery and in particular, delivering culturally appropriate services. If you would like to learn more about the links between culture, health and wellbeing, how to increase client satisfaction and nutritional status, improve community cohesion and engagement, and overall enjoyment of meals by clients, this training is for you.

The training will be delivered by

ZELJKA CANKOVIC, Education and Training Coordinator, has been working with MCCI since 2018. Zeljka has worked in the Refugee Settlement Sector for 12 years where she gained valuable experience in working with CALD communities and services involved in clients’ settlement. She was also employed with Housing NSW as a Senior Client Service Officer Specialist. Apart from these roles, Zeljka has been employed with TAFE Community Services as a casual part-time teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Science Psychology and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She has been involved in delivering various cultural training programs/workshops.

MONICA SHARMA, Project Officer and Education and Training Officer, has been working with MCCI since 2016. She has over 17 years of experience in customer care training gained through previous roles working in customer service environment. She has extensive knowledge and experience in working with CALD communities across various projects. She holds a Bachelor in Commerce, Masters in Professional Accounting with major in International Business, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management. She is currently undertaking her Master of Social Work (Qualifying) and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
