Join us for an epic night of trivia at The Fraternity Club! Get ready to put your knowledge to the test and compete against other trivia enthusiasts. Whether you’re a trivia whiz or just looking for a fun night out, this event is perfect for everyone. Gather your friends, form a team, and get ready to showcase your brainpower. With exciting questions and fantastic prizes up for grabs, it’s a night you don’t want to miss.

Dinner can be purchased from downstairs and served in the trivia room. A small selection of snacks will be available at every table and drinks will be available to buy from the bar in the trivia room all evening.

Have fun and learn how to paddle board!

Learn how to paddle board! Meet at Belmore Basin, Wollongong. Please wear clothes that can get wet. Life vests will be provided for those who need one and certified instructors will be running the session. No experience needed! Please meet at at 3:30pm at MCCI, 117 Corrimal Street, and walk over to Belmore Basin with MCCI staff Steve and Emily.

You must be 14 years or older to take part in this session.

Understanding cultural drivers and influences in the palliative approach to care

You will learn how to increase client satisfaction by delivering culturally appropriate services, including strategies to improve health professionals’ knowledge, skills and confidence in the palliative approach to care for people with a life-limiting illness. The training will enable you to understand how to provide the best possible care and support for people with different cultural needs.

Target Audience

Allied health clinicians, registered nurses, enrolled nurses and AINs working with older people in the community and residential aged care services.

Topics include

  • Understand the palliative approach to care
  • Learn how culture influences expectations, decision-making and reactions to the palliative approach
  • Apply the palliative approach to a cultural briefing

The cultural aspect of this session does not include any clinical information.

PEPA is funded by the Department of Health and is aimed at preparing Australia’s health workforce to deliver quality, holistic, person-centred and culturally responsive care to people with a life-limiting illness.

PICAC, auspiced by MCCI, is a government initiative that can help you to develop and enhance relationships with CALD aged care communities, identifying their unique needs.
