The Opportunity

MCCI’s social groups provide social connection, activities, outings and a shared meal for seniors over 65 from multicultural backgrounds.

We are now looking for a new Arabic speaking facilitator to join our team and support our Middle Eastern Group in the ACT.

This role allows you to make a positive impact in the lives of older people, and use your creativity, organisational and customer services skills to create a varied and interesting program with the clients.

Part-time max term contract available, 8 hours per week:

Wednesday – 3 hours admin duties (flexible)

Thursday – 09:30am – 2:30pm

About You:

You will have a passion for working with the elderly and experience and understanding of working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities. 

  • Proven experience in organising and delivering group activities that meet client needs.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • IT literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Certificate III (as a minimum) in Individual Support, Aged Care, Community Services or similar or extensive relevant experience.
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Comprehensively insured motor vehicle and valid driver’s licence.
  • COVID-19 Vaccinations.

This role is pivotal to the organisation as an office allrounder, providing administrative assistance to our front-line teams.  You will be the first point of contact for clients, volunteers, staff and other stakeholders.  

A typical day includes responding to incoming enquires over the phone, face-to-face, meeting and greeting clients and community groups, implementing procedures for fleet and facilities management and supporting community-based activities.
