About the role:

The Regional Care Manager is a leadership position responsible for day to day delivery of MCCI’s community-based aged care services to multicultural seniors, carers and communities within a defined geographic region. The role includes responsibility for implementing MCCI’s Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and Home Care Package (HCP) services.

The position is primarily responsible for:

  • Effectively oversee the My Aged Care portal and intake triage control for the geographic area to which the role applies
  • Exercise sound judgement in day to day decision-making consistent with MCCI’s delegations of authority, seeking guidance from the Executive Operations Manager where required
  • Ensure that all staff working in the defined geographic area are doing so in a manner that is consistent with MCCI’s external accreditation requirements and internal governance, policy and procedure requirements.
  • Ensure robust measures are maintained in respect of consumer safety, clinical care, support planning and choice, and culturally safe & respectful service delivery
  • Maintain effective, accurate and timely oversight of service delivery information in Procura CRM in line with record keeping requirements, assisting the Executive Operations Manager to prepare and complete internal and external reports
  • Recommend and implement quality & continuous improvement strategies to assist MCCI to better meet the needs of consumers, carers, and communities
  • Handle routine feedback, complaints and incidents in line with MCCI policy.
  • Lead and assist in MCCI participation and completion of quality reviews and accreditations, undertaking regular internal audits and monitoring compliance with relevant policies, codes, industry standards and legal requirements for the service.
  • Provide prompt and accurate responses to all enquiries and requests from management, staff, clients, carers, funding bodies and other relevant stakeholders.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Recent experience, expertise and competence working in a team leadership or management role in a community aged care setting responsible for CHSP and Home Care Package programs.
  • High level technical knowledge of the Australian Aged Care system, including the Quality Standards, and the needs & experiences of seniors from CALD backgrounds
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully supervising, leading and supporting a diverse team of front-line staff, contractors and volunteers.
  • Experience working with client management systems, including data management and reporting.
  • Prior demonstrated experience working independently within a delegated environment and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The Role:

Recognising that settlement in a new country is a long and difficult journey with many hurdles to overcome, the role will provide targeted mental health and wellbeing related communication, connection and engagement opportunities for humanitarian migrants and refugees (HM&R) that may experience challenges in accessing services.

To be successful in the role you will need:

  • Prior project work experience in a community development setting,
  • Working knowledge of the mental health and wellbeing support services
  • Good understanding of the migration experience of people from refugee backgrounds
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work in team environment.
  • Passion to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Plan and coordinate prevention, promotion and early intervention activities and programs in the area of Refugee and CALD Mental Health and Wellbeing.

The Project:

 The role will oversee the mental health and wellbeing project, which includes:

  • Developing & implementing community-based activities to promote mental health and wellbeing, as well as referral pathways for people from refugee backgrounds.
  • Support SCARF’s team members with information, support and referral pathways to assist them to engage with community members who are struggling with mental health issues or accessing wellbeing pathways.
  • Planning and Coordinating workshops and information sessions in partnership with external stakeholders for people from refugee and CALD communities.
  • Liaising with SCARF’s team to raise awareness of the initiative through existing programs.
  • Maintaining records of activities undertaken, program participation, and working with the SCARF Manager to monitor, report on, and evaluate the program for the funding body

  • Willingness to undertake Police check
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID 19

The role provides a range of domestic assistance and cleaning services to older people in their home. This includes supporting clients with basic day to day household tasks including washing dishes, making beds and household cleaning such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping and laundry.

  • Certificate III in Cleaning Operations (desirable)
  • Demonstrated understanding of best practices in cleaning techniques and protocols.

  • Valid driver’s licence.
