We are seeking a compassionate care advisor to join our Care Services team.

As a care advisor, you will work with older people from culturally diverse backgrounds to help them achieve their goals remain independent at home. You will provide them with the information, guidance, and help they need to access care and support services.

Social Support Group Facilitator – ACT

Social Support Group Facilitator – Indian Group

We are looking for a new facilitator to join our team and support our Indian group in the ACT.

This role allows you to make a positive impact in the lives of older people, and use your creativity, organisational and customer services skills to create a varied and interesting program with the clients.

Part- time max term contract available, 8 hours per week:

Wednesday – 3 hours flexible

Thursday – 9.30am – 2.30pm

About You

You have a passion for working with the elderly and experience and understanding of working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Fluency in Hindi is highly regarded.

  • IT literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Current Senior First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Comprehensively insured motor vehicle and valid driver’s licence.

  • Current accreditation as a physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Experience working with client management systems

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

About the Role

We are seeking support workers who are compassionate and caring in nature and committed to delivering quality care and services to people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. Our aim is to match care workers with clients to ensure we provide a high-quality service, connecting those who can offer support with those that need support.

Duties may include the following:

  • Domestic assistance (light house duties – vacuuming, dusting, mopping).
  • Personal care (bathing, dressing, undressing).
  • Social support (shopping, social outings, meal preparation).
  • Transport (medical appointments and outings).

About You

You will have a passion for working with the elderly and experience and understanding of working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Fluency in a second language is highly regarded but not essential.

Must haves:

  • Experience in providing in-home care.
  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Community Services or similar.
  • Flexibility and availability for work.
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
  • Own comprehensively insured motor vehicle.
  • Access and ability to use a smartphone.
