Practice Leader – Case Work – Illawarra

MCCI is seeking a dedicated and experienced Practice Leader – Case Work to join our dynamic Refugee & Youth Support team based in Wollongong. As a Practice Leader, you will work closely with program officers and volunteers, leading and supporting case work to ensure comprehensive and effective advocacy for clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds settling in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions.

The Role 

The Practice Leader is responsible for high-quality casework, managing workloads, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance. They lead intake, monitor progress, maintain documentation, and oversee referrals. They also collaborate by organising events, promoting programs, developing training, and representing MCCI at meetings. 

About You 

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the community services environment
  • Strong understanding of refugee and migration experiences 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of casework frameworks in a multicultural context 
  • Compliance with child safety standards 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, psychology or Human Services fields, or substantial relevant prior experience are essential

Desirable Criteria

  • Relevant recent experience in the non-profit sector 
  • Proficiency in additional languages is an asset 
  • Cultural competence and ability to work in a multicultural environment
