Are you looking after someone or taking care of them? At MCCI we know that caring for someone is rewarding, challenging and difficult. It is important to look after yourself and also be informed about what help is available to you as a carer. As part of a social marketing campaign, developed by the University of Wollongong, we have tailored Carers Support material that you can download: carers support booklets translated into eight languages and posters aimed at the Vietnamese and Turkish communities. We have used images of some of our nearly 100 local carers who are involved in the MCCI Carers Support Program in the Illawarra. Have a look and see if you recognise any of them:

MCCI’s Carers Support Groups are here to help. Why not consider joining one of our monthly carer support groups? Joining a carer support group is a great way to meet new friends in a safe environment and obtain information about carer support services and learn from others.
Our carer support groups meet monthly, with a bilingual support worker available to help. We run carers support groups for a wide range of communities. Check the calendar to find out when your group is meeting.
